***OKAY,
SLIGHTLY NEW FORMAT, SOME PEOPLE HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING THAT THEY
DO NOT KNOW WHICH MOVIES CERTAIN HORROR CELEBS ARE FROM, SO I AM
GOING TO START PUTTING A LITTLE INFO NEXT TO THEIR NAMES.
BASICALLY WHAT THEY ARE MOST FAMOUS FOR.***
August
2003 Horrorfind Weekend
Well, I had a little bit of the scare there, and it was looking like we weren't going to make it this year due to my developing some health problems, but I decided to put off the health problems and get it taken care of at a later date, lol. To be more specific I developed a Pilonidal Cyst at the base of my spine (eeeewww!). I was going to have it surgically removed before the Fall semester of school started, but then figured the way the operation would go, I don't think I would have recovered by then anyway, and it has only been infected once so far. If it becomes infected again, then I will have the surgery, but why go through all that pain if it may not ever be infected again? There ya have it, some fascinating gross stuff for ya, lol.
Okay, well it has been a little while since I wrote the above paragraph, in fact, it is now after the convention and I am home and happy. I do still have to have the surgery it turns out, but it will be this Thursday, and I hopefully will have the time to recover before the Fall Semester begins September 3rd. But ENOUGH ABOUT THAT!!!! Let's get on to this year's Horrorfind Convention :)
Raven,
my mother and myself arrived at the Marriott around 4pm Friday.
There was absolutely no wait to have our tickets checked and
wristbands in place, which was wonderful. We waited until 5pm for
the convention to start and were immediately let in, and of
course, headed straight to the celebrity room. The first horror
icon in line was Gunnar Hansen. He was incredibly warm and
talkative and even made little "Grrr" noises when we
had our pics taken with him. Next were Doug Bradley and Ken
Foree. Raven was meeting Doug, as I had met him previously, and I
had a great time as usual with Ken Foree.
All along the next wall were a bunch of the celebs from George A.
Romero's Night of the Living Dead. Mom met and spoke with the
Cooper's first, and "Harry Cooper" commented on how
much he liked the dragon on Raven's shirt. He was extremely warm.
Also from NOTLD there was "Johnny", some guy named John
Russo sitting next to him (lol), the first zombie and
"Barbra". Judith was INCREDIBLE!! She was sooo nice and
talkative and lively, she had to be one of my most favorite
people I ever met.
We then went to meet Reggie, and I explained to him that Raven
was the girl I had him address to the camcorder for me two years
prior, he immediately got up to hug her, and as he did, her
spiked piercing sunk into his shoulder! He laughed and made a
bunch of jokes about how deadly she was, and Raven still to this
moment, feels terrible about it (but I don't think she should, it
was a memorable experience and it wasn't like he was curled on
the floor reeling in pain, it was cute). While we were standing
at Reg's table I notice David Naughton across the room and almost
fell over, I couldn't wait to meet him! He was very sweet and a
little disturbed by my behavior I think, lol. We then met Tony
Todd, and he was amazing, so incredibly friendly!
Of course, and I am sure anyone who attended and met this next
person would be quick to agree, that the most fun celebrity to
meet was indeed Mr. Bill Moseley. He had everyone in stitches
during his antics. He performed so many hysterical bits for my
camcorder we were dying! He was so animated and hysterical, just
meeting him alone would have been fun. I got three pics from him,
one each from Night of the Living Dead '90, Texas Chainsaw 2, and
House of 1,000 Corpses, and on each one he wrote a great line
from each movie and performed each line while doing so. What fun!
Everybody else we were to meet the next day, so when we arrived
on Saturday, we immediately got into line for Alice Cooper. We
finally got to meet him after a relatively (but not too bad, it
was a longer wait for Bruce Campbell) long wait, and he was
incredible! Mom said to him "This feels like Christmas
meeting you!", and when he saw that Raven had a copy of
Monster Dog for him to sign, he went on to explain how handsome
he thought he was in that movie, lol. I pointed out the tattoo on
my arm and jokingly said, "This is supposed to be you where
the smudge is (the tattoo is somewhat disintegrating)" and
he said, "That is okay, my face is pretty much a smudge now
anyway!" NOTE TO ALICE: Don't say that, you look great!!!!!
After that I met Dee Wallace and she was very funny and warm, and
then Raven finally got to meet Tom Savini, whom we hadn't
realized was there the night before, because his table was
downstairs with the vendors.
Mike once again did a knockout stellar job with the Horrorfind
and deserves much praise for holding it all together like he
does. Please keep it up and cannot wait for future wonderful
potential memories to be had. And now, on to the large amount of
pics!:

On the left, Ken and Raven...and on the RIGHT, LOL!!!!!! Me and Ken in what has to be the ultimate replacement to what I thought was the goofiest picture ever taken of me and a celeb (Tom Savini and myself Horrorfind '01, go look, you will laugh very hard, lol)!! I literally peed myself laughing when I saw this pic! I look like Lily Tomlin doing the phone operator lady ("One ringy dingy, Two ringy dingy") and Ken just looks...it is too funny!!!! As usually, he was one of the warmest and friendliest people I ever had the pleasure to meet, and I am sorry Ken if you see this pic posted, but you have to admit it is soooo funny! I always want to run home and watch Dawn or Leatherface when I meet and talk to him, he just makes you feel so comfortable, and with the exception of Tom Savini and Reggie Bannister, he is the only celeb that I have talked to every single time he appeared at a convention that I was at.
