What Scares You?:
SHARKS!!  Any large creature in the water.

Who are your most favorite famous people you have ever met?:
Bruce Campbell, Reggie Bannister, Tom Savini, Ken Foree, Ted Raimi, James Karen, Don Calfa, Alice "F'in" Cooper!!!!!, Clint Howard, Bill Moseley, Tony Todd, and Linnea Quigley.

What were your fondest experiences in meeting these people?:
Well, Bruce was just hysterical as always.  Reggie, Tom, Linnea and Ken I have met several times and loved talking to.  James and Don were the sweetest.  Alice Cooper was just incredible, I never thought I would meet him, he was soooo warm and friendly.  Tony Todd was very cool.  Bill Moseley performed all of my favorite characters for my video camera!  Ted Raimi was funny, when I asked him why he didn't have any pics from Intruder, he said "WOW!!  You ARE a fan!!".  Clint Howard was incredible as well.

Who are your least favorite famous people you have ever met?:
Well, I wouldn't say least as if I didn't appreciate meeting them, but maybe the experiences weren't as cool as others, so I would have to say Linda Blair, Kane Hodder, and Gary Klar.

What were your least fondest experiences in meeting these people?:
Linda Blair was cool, it was just that she was the only celebrity I met thus far that firmly was against video cameras, which I totally respect, I just got a bit nervous around her.
Kane Hodder was the only person that charged at the FangoCon (that I met anyway), I have NO problem with paying for autos and stuff, but usually at a convention it either is or is not the fact that you pay for autos and stuff.  He also was charging a lot in my opinion.  Other attendees at that particular con were Dario Argento, Gene Simmons, H.G. Lewis, Clint Howard, Day of the Dead cast, etc. and none of them charged.
Gary Klar just sort of rubbed me the wrong way a teensy bit, I guess.  It seemed sort of like he wasn't that excited to be there as compared to Lori and Joe (all three from Day of the Dead).  Which was funny, because he had a wicked funny hat on, so you would think he was sorta in a crazy mood, but I think he was probably just tired, which is cool.

Who would you most like to meet that you have not yet met (more than one person is cool)?:
Adrienne Barbeau, George A. Romero, Thom Matthews, Tom Atkins, Patricia Tallman, Gaylen Ross, Scott Reineger, John Amplas, Paul Williams, Deborah Foreman, Elvira, Suzanne Snyder, William Butler, Angus Scrimm, anyone from MST3K, anyone from Twin Peaks, Grace Jones (she is from my hometown), anyone from The Thing, Kim Richards and Jewel Shephard.

What is your most prized possession acquired from a convention?:

Any video I have ever taken.

 A little about your background:

I was born and raised in Syracuse, NY, and moved to Fulton, NY around 1999.  I have a brother who is 10 years younger than me named Christopher, and I am very close with my mom (we attend conventions together...she is the one that got me into horror movies, lol).  I live with my beautiful husband, Nathan, and our four cats.  I currently attend SUNY Oswego, majoring in Childhood Education.

Hi! My name is Courtney, I am 30, and I live in Fulton, New York.

The background pic is a portrait that artist Chad Savage did of me, but when I tried to put it in color on this page it was WAY too busy so I b&w'd it.

My Horror Background:

As you can probably guess by now, I am passionate about horror movies. Being a female fan of horror movies growing up, I found it difficult to discuss these movies with very many girls. The only people I ever had to talk to about horror movies (besides my friend Mary) were boyfriends. Once I wrote a letter to Fangoria magazine speaking of this problem, they published it, and I had over a hundred responses! Because there were so many responses, I was overwhelmed and had to discontinue contact with many of them due to postage and writer's cramp!! The people (yes, people, males did end up responding as well, which I didn't mind really...there were only a few weirdos, which are fun to read anyway!) that I did continue to write (I think about 10-20 people was what I could afford at the time) eventually stopped writing me, except for one, a male! His name is Stephen Romano , and he's very dear to me. Well, a couple of years after my letter was published, a girl named Becky (better known as Raven ) found the old issue I was in and decided to write me. We are now best friends. It's hard to see each other, because she lives 3 hours away, but we still constantly write and talk on the phone.

Anyways, back to the history of how I got into horror movies. I think it's a feeling that has always been there for me. My mother has always loved horror movies as well as her mother. When I was very young my mother showed me a lot of horror movies. The first gory movie I ever saw was John Carpenter's The Thing, when I was about 6 or 7 years old. Although my mother does love later horror movies, her passion is older B movies; Roger Corman, William Castle, and anything with Vincent Price in it to name but a few. Anyway, I immediately fell in love with The Thing. I then discovered Tom Savini, when Day of the Dead came out. By that time I was already an avid subscriber of Fangoria magazine. I had rented that old Scream Greats Fango video featuring Tom Savini, and watched it over and over again. Tom became my first idol. At that age, I could think of nothing else but being a special effects wizard. If you go to the Phantom of the Paradise page, you'll read all about how important that movie is to me. As far as all the other movies on my page, they are all very special to me. Probably the movies I still watch the most are Phantom of the Paradise, The Thing, Day of the Dead, Evil Dead and The Fog. I still watch all the movies a lot, but those five are on top. Other movies I consistently watch are Clownhouse, Dawn of the Dead, Hannibal Trilogy (Manhunter, Silence, and Hannibal), Ed Wood, Jackie Brown, Assault on Precinct 13, and Valley Girl.  Also, in case it isn't too obvious, I LOVE ZOMBIES! Most of my friends love vampires. My favorite movie monsters are zombies, and always have been.
